Healthcare Technology Management (HTM)

Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET)

BMETs are HTM professionals that inspect, calibrate, repair, document, and report on all medical devices. They work in different environments, such as ER, OR, L&D, PT, and other areas of healthcare. Their work on life-saving and life-sustaining equipment is vital to ensure patients receive the best possible medical care.
BMETs often work alongside a staff of experienced medical professionals. The staff relies on BMETs to keep the equipment running and inform them of any upgrades.

What We Teach

AHTM teaches the many essential processes in a BMET’s day-to-day work, such as medical equipment inspections and repairs. In addition to the general (core) medical equipment items covered in the program, we will discuss some of the latest medical equipment devices available. We also offer a program that teaches students about the physiology of the human body.
In our HTM program, students will learn about the different career paths available in HTM. Make informed decisions and find the best path for your skills and interests.
